School District 189 Partners with East Side Health District for a Pediatric COVID-19 Vaccination Event

Dear School District 189 Families,

In partnership with the East Side Health District, we are holding a pediatric COVID vaccination clinic on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m. This clinic will serve children ages 5 to 11 ONLY as they receive the initial dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 pediatric vaccine at East St. Louis Senior High School (4901 State Street)

Please note: a parent or guardian MUST be present at the clinic as parental consent is required to administer a vaccination to children under 18 years old.

The pediatric vaccination event will be held at East St. Louis Senior High School's small gym on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m.  Age-eligible (5-11 years old) students, children of staff, and community members within the footprint of School District 189 are welcome.

Please note the following details:

  • Children ages 5-11 must have a parent present to give consent
  • The parent must bring their own photo ID to verify custody.  Guardians must bring appropriate evidence of custody for the child to receive the vaccine.

COVID-19 cases in children can result in hospitalizations, deaths, MIS-C (inflammatory syndromes), and long-term complications, such as "long COVID," where symptoms linger for months. Do your part to protect your child from COVID-19 by getting them the pediatric vaccine.
