Child Care and Community Learning Centers

School District 189 recognizes that closed schools create a hardship for families. We are proud to partner with other community organizations who can provide assistance to families during remote learning.

Children's Home & Aid Child Care Resource & Referral is a trust-wrothy system of support for families, early childhood care and education programs and communities. The Children's Home & Aid Child Care Assistance Program makes it possible for families and guardians who qualify to receive financial assistance to pay for childcare while they work, attend school or training. New Life Community Church Hub located at 1919 State Street is serving youth in grades K-5th in partnership with District 189. There are 20 slots available. Services begin September 21, 2020. Sinai Family Life Center: Serving up to 25 youth ages 5-14 years. Beginning September 8 from 7am-5pm. Contact 618-482-3440. Sinai Family Life Center Flyer

Macedonia Baptist Church: Hosting The Village E-learning Support Initiative that will serve 20 youth grades K-12. Registration is first come, first serve. Jackie Joyner Kersee Center: Serving up to 200 youth. Contact the center at 618-274-5437 for availability and hours. 

Mary Brown Center: Serving up to 25 youth Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm.

Join Hands Dream Path Teen Center and Ubuntu Center: Serving about 10 youth per center, Monday-Friday. 

Christian Activity Center: Serving youth from the Gompers community Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm.
