Bus Info

School District 189's Transportation department provides student transportation services to resident public and private school students in accordance with the Illinois State Board of Education.  All regular education students who live within the School District boundaries will be provided bus transportation services.  The transportation services for special needs students will be determined by the Special Education Department and included in the student’s IEP.  This will dictate if transportation services will be door to door or if the student is considered inclusive and assigned to a regular educational route.

Student pickup and drop-off times are APPROXIMATE.  Buses could arrive before or after the stated time.  Students should arrive at bus stops 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time and wait until ten minutes after the state stop time to call about a concern if your child has not been picked up to Illinois Central Bus Company, 618-394-1900.

Riding the bus is a privilege.  Each student is required by the Board of Education to adhere to the rules of conduct.  Non-compliance with these rules may result in the loss of bus riding privileges and/or suspension.

Versatrans E-Link Instructions

(Bus Route Information)

Versatrans E-Link provides parents/guardians with secure access to their students' Bus Route Information. This information is updated in real-time and reflects what is in our routing program. Routes have the potential to change during the year. This system will allow parents to always have access to the latest information. Below are instructions on how to access and use E-Link to get your student's bus information for the 2023-2024 School Year. As always, we remind parents and students to be at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup or drop-off time. http://trans.estl189.com/elinkrp

Login: Your Student's ID Number *this can be found in Skyward under Student Information. It is their "Other ID."

Password: Your Student's Birthday in the format MMDDYYYY

Please hover over "Students" then click "View My Students". Select your child from the list. It will display your student's bus information. You can view it on the screen or export it as a viewable/printable PDF which can be easier to read. Drivers will make corrections to their routes as needed so information my change. You can log back in at any time during the school year to confirm your student's information.

The Transportation Department is providing an optional mobile application called Versatrans My Stop

What is Versatrans My Stop

• Versatrans My Stop is an optional Mobile App available for your smartphone.
• Allows parents and students the ability to view scheduled bus stop time, location, and projected arrival time. This is available during scheduled route times only.
• Displays the actual location of the bus utilizing GPS technology.
• Updates and adjusts the scheduled arrival time as the bus is traveling along its route.
• Will show if the bus has already passed the assigned stop.
