    PRESCHOOL ENROLLMENT

Vivian Adams Early Childhood Center is pleased to begin the enrollment process for 2019-2020.  Preschool screenings will be held July 8, 2019 to July 26, 2019.  We encourage all new families entering preschool to please stop by the early childhood office Monday through Friday from 8:00-4:00 p.m. to pick up an application.  Included is important information about the enrollment process and financial requirements.  Please contact the Office with any questions and/or concerns you may have.

    Screening

ALL students are required to complete a developmental screening in order to determine eligibility for the program.  Developmental screenings are scheduled by the office and based on staffing availability. The screening process is to determine what type of services are needed for the child and family, if eligible.

    Financial requirement

The Illinois State Board of Education requires school districts and other entities (public/private) hosting Preschool for All programs to collect proof of income or public benefits.

    Public benefits include the following:

    • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
    • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
    • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
    • Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
    • Medicaid (card must list parent’s name)

If these benefits are not received, proof of income such as pay stubs (2 current stubs), income tax, SSI document, or an income verification letter from employer is acceptable.

Family income is one of the primary factors to determine a student’s eligibility for the Preschool for All program.  Therefore, a student cannot be enrolled or placed on a waiting list until documentation is received.
