  •  James Avant is located in East St. Louis, Illinois and serves the communities of Washington Park and Caseyville.

    We serve a diverse population of students consisting of African Americans, Caucasians and Hispanics, as well as Special Services students in Kindergarten - 5th grade. We are a school that strives to service the whole student’s needs in our care.

The meeting will be to discuss the following topics: Public Hearing to receive public comments on a proposed application for waiver of the requirements of section 27-6(a) of the Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/27-6(a)) to excuse pupils enrolled in grades 11 and 12 from engaging in physical education courses in order to attend academic elective courses for post-secondary preparation.
